TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony planned to be held in Tehran on Monday will mark the graduation of 260 memorizers of the entire Quran.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Reza Shahsavani, head of Bait-ul-Ahzan Quranic Institute announced this in a press conference Saturday, adding that Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and a number of the country’s Quranic and religious officials will attend the function.

He added that some of the graduate to be present at Monday’s event are Quran memorizers from Iraq and Pakistan.

According to the cleric, the institute was established in the southern Iranian city of Estahban, Fars Province, 22 years ago.

It then expanded its activities over the years and now has 180 branches across the country, he said.

Currently, some 2,000 teenagers and youths are learning the Quran by heart at the branches of the institute, Hojat-ol-Islam Shahsavani said.

They are taking courses held as part of the institute’s one-year Quran memorization plan.
