TEHRAN (IQNA) – There have been long queues in bookstores in Uzbekistan for buying a copy of the Quran reprinted for the third time.

The copy, which is in Othman Taha style and has been reprinted by the Hilal Nashr publications, does not include a translation.

According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Tashkent, given the warm reception by the people, the publisher plans to print another 50,000 copies.

Until recently, Quran copies sold in Uzbekistan were printed in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

Uzbekistan is a doubly landlocked country in Central Asia.

Islam is the dominant religion in Uzbekistan. According to some estimates, nearly 90 percent of the country’s population is Muslims.
