Iran Armed Forces Quran Contest Underway in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 32nd edition of the Quran competition for the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran kicked off here in Tehran on Tuesday.

 

The Headquarters of the Police Force is hosting the Quranic event, which will conclude in a ceremony on Thursday.

Some 230 members of the Army, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Ministry of Defense, Police Force and Armed Forces Chief of Staff are attending the contest.

They compete in different categories, including recitation and memorization f the Quran, Adhan (call to prayers), and Quranic concepts.

A group of 20 prominent Quran experts make up the competition’s panel of judges.

The closing ceremony on Thursday will be attended by senior commanders of the Armed Forces as well as political officials.
