Quran Memorization School Opens in Chechnya
According to Al-Ahram website, it was launched on the sidelines of the inauguration of the largest mosque in Europe.
The opening ceremony of the school was held with the participation of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, and officials from Arab and Muslim countries including Osama Al-Azhari, advisor to the president of Egypt in religious affairs.
Three winners of the first international Quran competition in Chechnya, held for Quran memorizers from 26 countries, were also honored in the ceremony.
Sheikh Adam Shahidov, advisor to the Chechen president, said in an address to the program that it has always been an objective of the president that a Quranic generation be raised in the republic of Chechnya and everyone in the society live in peace and security.
