TEHRAN (IQNA) - Mercytech unveiled Islamically.com, a new web app that will boost the online presence of American mosques.

Islamically.com features profiles for mosques and their imams, an event promotion platform, and a video translation service to subtitle Muslim khutbas (sermons) from Arabic to English. In addition, Islamically.com includes a fatwa engine to facilitate religious opinion requests coming from Muslims or non-Muslims living in America and route them strictly to imams that live in America.

“We no longer need to import Islamic knowledge from imams who are  unfamiliar with the American lifestyle. American imams are better equipped to be the main source of Islamic knowledge for American Muslims, and Islamically.com facilitates this,” Yassine Elkaryani, Mercytech’s co-founder and managing partner, told Morocco World News.

“American imams need a proper forum to give them the same fair chance that critics of Islam are pampered with by the media. Everything needed to rebut against radicalism by promoting the Islam that most American Muslims practice is on Islamically.com, and everything needed to amplify the voice of American Muslims is on Islamically.com,” he added.
Written in PHP and hosted on Amazon Web Services’ cloud, Islamically.com is running on state-of-the-art infrastructure. Islamically.com’s servers are all mirrored in two continents, and are secured by backup and disaster recovery cloud services.
“As the data we will be handling is sensitive, and because we may be targets of hacking, we vaccinated ourselves with the most advanced solutions out there to ensure continuity of our services without fear of intrusions or lengthy interruptions. The cost is higher but worth the investment,” explained Mr Elkaryani.
Islamically.com also comes accompanied with a supportive Facebook app that will help make the videos and articles available on Islamically.com go viral; this is besides processes that will tailor Islamic knowledge and make it shareable on Vines, Instagram, and SnapChat: three platforms dominated by young Americans.
Mercytech will host a service overview seminar on June 13th 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Holiday Inn in Fort Lee, NJ to showcase Islamically.com to potential clients, advertisers, Muslim community activists, and press.
Islamically.com services will be made available to the public in August 2015.
