Thousands Sign Petition to Remove Tommy Robinson Book on Quran from Amazon

The activist Maz Saleem, whose father was murdered by a neo-Nazi terrorist in Birmingham in 2013, started the petition on the 38 Degrees website to remove "Mohammed’s Koran: Why Muslims Kill for Islam.”

The petition states: "We need to live in unity with Christian, Jews, Black, White and Muslims, Robinson’s book seeks to demonize two billion Muslims simply because of their faith. The dragon seed of racism in the 20th century delivered such hate that it ended in genocide. Today we are witnessing the same type of hatred being built up by individuals such as Tommy Robinson and the far-right ideologies he supports…

"Robinson’s book feeds into a narrative which has already led in the UK to racist attacks on Muslims…. Some include murders and the majority of these attacks are on Muslim women. We must take a stand and demand the removal of this publication of racist propaganda. Which can only fuel more hatred. Its removal will be a significant boost to defend democratic human rights.”

Robinson, who has no academic credentials or expertise on Islam and does not speak Arabic, is one of Britain’s most prominent critics of Islam and "Muslim extremists.”

He is the co-founder and former spokesman and leader of the right-wing English Defence League. He led the EDL from 2009 until 8 October 2013, when he was persuaded to leave the organization and discuss alternative ways of tackling extremism with the think tank Quilliam.

In 2015 he became involved with the development of Pegida UK, a British chapter of the German-based Pegida organization, presenting a stated purpose to counter the "Islamization of our countries.”
