Closing Ceremony of Malaysia Int’l Quran Contest Gets Underway in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR (IQNA) – The closing ceremony of Malaysia’s 60th international Quran contest started in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday evening.

 

According to IQNA dispatches, a number of senior officials and guests, including Iran Ambassador to Malaysia Marziyeh Afkham, have arrived at the Putra World Trade Center, where the ceremony is underway.

Malaysia’s king, Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan, who was absent in the opening function, is expected to attend and address Saturday’s ceremony.

Officially named the “International Al Quran Recital and Memorisation Assembly”, the competition started on Monday with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from 56 countries.

There were a total of 53 Qaris and 25 Quran memorizers competing in the two sections (for men and women).
