Quranic Course for Hearing-Impaired Women Underway in Turkey

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran reading course has been organized for women with hearing disabilities in the Turkish city of Gaziantep.

 

According to Anadolu Agency, the participants in the Quranic course also learn lessons on religious teachings and injunctions.

Highlighting the importance of the Quranic classes, Mehmet Güneş, deputy of Gaziantep Mufti, said, “it is our duty to teach Quran to different groups of people in the society.”

He added that the Quran teachers at the Dar-ol-Ifta of the country need to pass teacher training courses to learn sign language and necessary skills for teaching the hearing-impaired.

The Dar-ol-Ifta also plans to organize more educational programs for the disabled, children and the youth, the deputy went on to say.
