TEHRAN (IQNA) –  Iran will send a Quran memorizer to compete in this year’s edition of Sudan’s international Quran competition.

Mojtaba Alirezalu has been selected to represent the Islamic Republic in the Quranic event.

The competition is slated to be held in late December in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum.

The contenders vie for the top prize in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.

Born in 1996 in Shahriar, a town 15 kilometers southwest of Tehran, Alirezalu learned the entire Quran by heart by attending classes held at Bait-ul-Ahzan Quranic Institute.

He has previously attended an international Quran competition in the United Arab Emirates.

Last year, Mohammad Rasool Takbiri was Iran’s representative in Sudan’s international Quran competition.
