This is according to Abdullah Abul Hassan, deputy head of the Iqra (read) Quranic Sciences Institute that annually organizes the event.
He said 931 boys and girls have applied for competing in the categories of memorization and recitation of the Quran while 175 individuals have so far signed up for the Quran interpretation category, Qaaf news agency reported.
Abul Hassan added that this edition of the contest will be held with the motto of “Memorize (the Quran) with awareness, recite it with contemplation”.
The competition will be held in two rounds, with the preliminary round slated in Quranic centers across Bahrain as well as Saudi Arabia’s Qatif region.
