TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 61st edition of Malaysia’s international Quran competition will be held in April.

Like previous years, Kuala Lumpur will host the 2019 edition of the Quranic event on April 15-20.

Iran will be represented in this edition of the contest by Hadi Movahed Amin.

He will compete in the category of recitation of the Holy Quran.

Movahed Amin, who last year won Croatia’s international Quran contest, will be accompanied by Quran expert Ahmad Abolqassemi as a guide.

Malaysia’s Quranic event is world’s oldest international Quran competition.

It is officially named the “International Al Quran Recital and Memorisation Assembly”.

Last year, it was held with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from 56 countries.

There were a total of 53 Qaris and 25 Quran memorizers competing in the two sections (for men and women).
