Mourning Ceremony Held for Hazrat Zahra (SA) Martyrdom Anniversary

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei attended a mourning ceremony on Thursday night ahead of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

 

Like previous years, mourning ceremonies on the sad occasion are held for several days in the presence of the Leader at the Imam Khomeini Husseiniyeh (religious center) in Tehran.

It was the third night of mourning at the Husseiniyeh.

A large number of people and the Islamic Establishment’s officials were present at the event.

Addressing the ceremony, senior cleric Hojat-ol-Islam Rafiei elaborated on the lofty spiritual status and virtues of Hazrat Zahra (SA), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and her steadfastness on the path of the truth.

Also, renowned elegists Samavati and Motiei recited elegies to commemorate the anniversary.

Shia Muslims, and others in different parts of the world hold ceremonies every year in the lunar Hijri month of Jumada al-Ula to mourn the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

This year, the martyrdom anniversary falls on Saturday, February 9.
