TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held in Tehran on Friday to commemorate the late Iranian Quran master Ali Arbabi on the 12th anniversary of his death.

His family members as well as his students and others attended the event, held at Imamzadegan Panjtan Husseinya (religious center) here in the Iranian capital.

Ali Arbabi was born in Tehran in 1939. He attended Master Khalil Rahman’s courses on Quran recitation in 1968 and continued his recitation practices more professionally by participating in Master Mowlaee’s classes.

Through his sincere love and devotion to the Holy Quran as well as his perseverance in learning the Holy Book and recording the recitations of prominent reciters of his time, Master Arbabi succeeded in training a large number of Quran reciters and teachers over 37 years of nonstop endeavors.

He also used to be an international referee in Quran recitation competitions.
