Tarteel Radio Launched in Tehran
The radio broadcasts Tarteel recitations of the Quran by prominent Qaris during Ramadan.
They include Iranian Qaris like Shahriar Parhizkar, Karim Mansouri, Abbas Emamjome, and Mohammad Hossein Sabzali and Egyptian reciters like Mohamed Sediq Minshawi, Mahmoud Khalil al-Hasri, Abdul Basit Abdul Samad and Shahat Mohamed Anwar.
Tarteel is measured recitation of the Quran in rhythmic tones according to the rules that explain how to recite the Quran.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
