Quran Competition Wraps Up in Algeria

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The ninth edition of Algeria’s national Quran competition concluded in a ceremony in which winners were announced and awarded.

 

According to Radio Algeria, a number of senior officials, including the country’s Awqaf and religious affairs minister, attended the awarding ceremony.

Asma Barn bagged the top prize in the women’s section and Abdol Rahman Taei was named the top winner in the men’s section.

Winners received cash prizes and Umrah pilgrimage packages.

The competition is annually organized in the holy month of Ramadan.

Algeria is an Arab country in North Africa. Muslims make up about ninety-nine percent of the country’s population.
