Shamkhani made the remark in a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with deputy head of the Hamas Political Bureau Salih al-Aruri, seeming referring to the US-sponsored “deal of the century” plan.
He also underlined Iran’s support for the cause of Palestine, saying that it will continue until the ultimate victory of the resistance movement against “child-killing” occupiers.
Aruri, for his part, said that the US and Zionist regime’s enmities have failed to weaken Iran’s support for the Palestinian cause.
“We, as representatives of the resistance movement and Hamas, underline that any hostile act against Iran is considered as one against Palestine,” he added.
The deal of century ploy, fronted by US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, has already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House’s policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.
Palestinians have cut off all contacts with the Trump administration since the president broke with decades of bipartisan policy to recognize al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
