TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran competition was held last week at the Blue Mosque in Manila, the Philippines.


It was organized in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in the Southeast Asian country.

Twelve top participants of the preliminary stage competed in two groups of male and female Quran reciters in the final stage.

Hamidin Abie, Omar Guiamlod and Abdolnaser Asgar respectively won the first to the third ranks in the male group.

The three top female participants were Norasia Guiamlod, Norasia Dalmoab and Rohmiya Taha.

Mohammad Ja’fari Malek, the Iranian cultural attaché in Manila, was honored at the awarding ceremony for his efforts in supporting Quranic activities in the Philippines.
