TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran memorization competition was held at the international Ramadan tent at the Grand Mosque of the Victory Park of Moscow, Russia.

The program was addressed by Roshan Abbasov, deputy of the Russian Council of Muftis, Mahdi Sanaei, Iranian ambassador to Russia, and Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Moballeghi, member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts.

The participants at the program read a part of the Holy Quran’s verses and the Quran memorizers were asked to say the number of the verse and Surah and read the entire verse from memory.

The tent hosts representatives of a different country every night during Ramadan to hold their traditional programs. The Iranian embassy holds special programs at the tent on the last Friday of Ramadan, which marks the International Quds Day.

Religious speeches, photo and book exhibitions, Tawasheeh performances, competitions and Iftar (fast breaking) ceremony are different parts of the program.

The 14th edition of “Ramadan Tent” has been held from the beginning of the holy month with the participation of Russian Muslim figures and officials.

The Moscow Muslims Religious Office holds the annual cultural charity program in cooperation with the Office for Muslims Religious Affairs in Russia and Moscow’s government.
