TEHRAN (IQNA) – A senior Iranian Army commander highlighted the seriousness of the enemies’ cultural onslaught against the country and said the best way to counter it is acting upon the Quran.

Deputy Chief of Iran's Army for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari made the remark on Saturday in an address to the closing ceremony of the 19th edition of the Quran competition for the Army’s female staff and its personnel’s family members.

He added that the enemies of the Islamic Revolution seek to undermine the rich Islamic-Iranian culture by their cultural onslaught.

“Through Tawakkul (reliance on God) and acting upon the Quran’s teachings, we must prevent the enemies from reaching their objectives,” he went on to say.

More than 500 female members of the Army staff and its personnel’s family members took part in this year’s competition in different categories, including Quran recitation, memorization and Quranic concepts.
