TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the 41st edition of Saudi Arabia’s international Quran competition kicked off in the holy city of Mecca on Saturday, September 7.


According to, the secretariat of the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance held the preliminary stage of the competition with 146 participants from 103 countries in late August.

Top participants were selected to compete in the three-day final stage, which is held in the morning and evening sessions.

More than 6300 Quran reciters and memorizers have participated in the competition since the first edition of the international Quranic event in 1399 A.H.
