Speaking to IQNA on Wednesday, Sheikh Abdullah Daqqaq dismissed rumors that the cleric had died, saying he is in good health.
He added that Sheikh Qassim is in his home in Qom now and is likely to have a heart surgery in the coming weeks.
On Tuesday, Sheikh Daqqaq had also issued a statement saying Sheikh Qassim’s health is not at risk and that he is getting medical attention.
Under house arrest since May 2017, the Bahraini top cleric was flown to Britain in July 2018 for medical treatment.
He then paid a short visit to the holy city of Najaf, Iraq, and has since been in Iran.
