Speaking at the farewell and induction ceremony of the new and previous WFPIST chief, Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari added that these capacities should be used to counter the world arrogance.
The ceremony was held in Tehran on Wednesday.
He further referred to his plans as the forum’s secretary general to promote Islamic unity and proximity, saying they are based on the priorities highlighted in the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s decree to appoint him.
Hojat-ol-Islam Shahriari said Muslim countries’ avoiding disputes, enhancing cooperation in the Muslim world and uniting against enemies are among the priorities.
The other one is making efforts toward realization of the new Islamic civilization.
Hojat-ol-Islam Shahriari was appointed by the Leader as the new WFPIST secretary general on December 15. He replaced Hojat-ol-Islam Mohsen Araki.
The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought was established in October 1990 at the order of Ayatollah Khamenei for promoting proximity among Islamic schools of thought.
