TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 13th edition of a Quran competition organized by the Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center is underway in Iran’s holy city of Qom.

The women’s section of the competition kicked off on Thursday with a message from grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani.

It is being held in three age groups on memorization of the Holy Quran, and Tahqiq and Tarteel recitation.

This year’s competition has been named after Martyr Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated earlier this month by US forces in Iraq.

The women section of the contest will run until January 30.
