TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first night of ceremonies held to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA) was organized at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya (religious center) in Tehran on Sunday.


Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei attended the ceremony.

A large number of people and the Islamic Establishment’s officials were also present at the event.

In a speech at the ceremony, senior cleric Hojat-ol-Islam Kazem Sediqi highlighted different aspects of the life and character of Hazrat Zahra (SA), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

There were also elegy recitations by Mehdi Rasouli.

Shia Muslims and others in different parts of the world hold ceremonies every year on the first days of the month of Jumada al-Thani in the lunar Hijri calendar to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA).
