Rejection of the US-proposed so-called “deal of the century” plan was one of the main themes of the event.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s representative in Iraq, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini, was one of the speakers at the gathering.
He underlined the need for vigilance against the enemy and standing up to oppression and tyranny.
The senior cleric also said Palestine is the main issue in the Islamic world and a pivot of unity among Muslims.
Another speaker, Iraqi Sunni scholar Sheikh Abdul Latif al-Humaim, referred to the holy city of Quds (Jerusalem) as the identity of Muslims.
Ahmed Aql, Palestine’s Ambassador to Iraq, in his speech condemned the US plan for the Middle East and said US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will gain nothing from the “deal of the century” plan.
