TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iranian Quran activist who had been hospitalized for coronavirus was discharged after recovering.


Esmail Momensani was in Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran for treatment since two weeks ago.

He left the hospital on Monday to continue treatment at home for full recovery.

The Health Ministry announced on Monday that the number of people who have died from the coronavirus in Iran has risen to 237 and the total number of confirmed cases to 7,161.

At least 2,394 people have recovered from the disease in the country so far.

First detected in Wuhan city in central China in December, the virus has spread to more than 100 countries.

The global death toll is around 3,500 with more than 100,000 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
