The Holy Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine organized the webinar, according to the Astan’s website.
Muhsin al-Khaqani, an official with the Astan, said it aimed at highlighting the Quranic foundations and principles based on which the movement of Imam Hussein (AS) was formed.
He said a number of university scholars addressed the forum, discussing the verses of the Quran that Imam Hussein (AS) referred to during the trip from Medina to Karbala.
They also underlined the permanent relation between the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), al-Khaqani noted.
The Quranic event was organized ahead of Arbaeen, the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the 680 AD Battle of Karbala.
