TEHRAN (IQNA) – The restoration work in an old mosque in Afghanistan’s Herat has been completed.


The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) restored the mosque in the western province of Afghanistan, Anadolu Agency reported.

At a ceremony held to reopen the place of worship after restoration, Herat Mayor Noor Ahmad Heidari thanked TIKA and underlined continued cultural cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkey.

TIKA representative Ali Argun Cinar gave explanations about the restoration project.

He noted that the mosque was under the threat of decay and disrepair when a decision was made to renovate and restore it.
