Speaking in a TV interview, Lavrov said the Syrian crisis has an Islamic aspect as well as political one and, therefore, all Islamic parties should take part in the Geneva II talks, fr.ria website reported.
He said divisions in the Muslim world today threaten the security not only in the Middle East but the whole world.
The Russian FM added that representatives from Islamic groups should take part in Geneva II talks and present solutions to the Syrian crisis.
He added that participation of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the conference is a must because Iran, as the leader of Shia world and Saudi Arabia as the leader of the Sunni world play a major role in resolving the crisis.
Lavrov went on to say that inviting Indonesia as the most populous Muslim country in the world that has always tried to play a positive role in resolving crises is also important.
