Sudan to Have Africa’s Largest Quran Printing House

The largest Quran printing house in African is planned to be launched in Sudan today.

Some 850,000 Euros has been spent to establish the complex, which will be opened in an official ceremony in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum on Wednesday.
Director of Sudan’s Dar Mus’haf and a number of the country’s Quranic activists will be present at the inauguration ceremony.
The Quran printing house of Sudan will have the capacity to print some 6 million copies of the Holy Book every year.
It has been founded with investments from Qatar’s and Khalifa bin Jasim al-Kuwari, an advisor to Qatari minister of Awqaf and Islamic affairs will take part in the launching ceremony.
Until now, the Dar Mus’haf of Sudan, which was founded in 1994, has been the official institution for printing the Quran in the East African country.
The majority of Sudan’s population is Muslim and memorization of the Holy Book is common among the country’s people.
