Sudan Int’l Quran Competition Wraps up/ Iranian Contender Comes 4th

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The International Quran Competition in Sudan concluded in a ceremony in the capital city of Khartoum Tuesday night.

Iran’s contender Mahmoud Norouzi came 4th in the international Quranic event, Fars news agency reported.
Representatives of Chad, Algeria and Uganda won the first, second and third prizes, respectively, while the Yemeni and Libyan contestants came 5th and 6th.
The competition was held on memorization of the entire Quran along with Tafsir (interpretation) of the 25th Juz (section) of the Holy Book.
Mahmoud Norouzi had represented Iran in Tunisia’s Quran recitation competition last year and won the 3rd prize.
