TEHRAN (IQNA) – The philosophy of mourning in the lunar month of Muharram was discussed in a meeting of the representative of Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly with the deputy of Orthodox Christian Educational Center in Bulgaria.

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Hojat-ol-Islam Mufid Kiyayinezhad, member of the cultural commission of the assembly and Muhammad Ali Kiyani, the Iranian cultural attaché in Bulgaria, visited the educational center of Orthodox Christians and had a meeting with Dimitar Kostadinov, the deputy of the center.

The Christian official welcomed the Iranian delegation and expressed his willingness to help boost relations between Muslim and Christian preachers.

He noted that such meetings provide good opportunities for more religious and spiritual interactions between the two countries and asked for more such meetings.

The Iranian preacher in this meeting considered the crisis of identity as the most important problem in human societies in the contemporary world and stressed that religion and spirituality are the essentials missed in modern life.

Hojat-ol-Islam Kiyayinezhad said that more influential roles by religious preachers in societies will solve the problem.

He then talked about the philosophy of commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his household and companions in the month of Muharram and clarified the objectives of the Imam’s (AS) uprising, highlighting dignity, liberty and humanity as the lessons of the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).

The Iranian delegation also visited the center's library and various educational parts as well as its church.
