Sunday's 31st Annual United American Muslim Day Parade kicked off at 38th Street in Manhattan. The revelers, many clutching flowers, marched down Madison Avenue to 24th Street in Manhattan.

Members of the NYPD Muslim Officers Society also marched.

The street fair featured spoken word and musical performances, Halal food and drinks and other family-friendly activities. According to a flyer, this year's theme was "For God and Country."

The parade's grand marshal was Khizr (KY'-zur) Khan, whose son was killed in Iraq. Khan appeared at the Democratic National Convention and held up a copy of the US Constitution while criticizing GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.

According to a flyer, the theme for the parade this year was "For God and Country.”
