TEHRAN (IQNA) – This month, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Christ Episcopal Church and the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Indiana in the US will cooperate to present a series of talks titled “Understanding our Muslim Neighbors.”

The events are open to all members of the community.

The goal of this collaboration is to provide a welcoming space for community members to gather to learn about Islam and Muslims in the United States as well as to provide a friendly space for people to get answers to any questions they have about Islam or Muslims.

The talks will be presented by Dr. Michelle Sandhoff, an assistant professor of sociology at IUP.

Sandhoff has studied the experiences of Muslims in the U.S. for several years, has written a book about Muslim Americans serving in the U.S. military, and is one of the faculty advisers for the Muslim Student Association on campus.

On April 27, Christ Episcopal Church in Indiana held the opening talk of the series, titled "Islam 101,” which covered the basics of the Islamic religion.
