According to Anadolu Agency, the distribution of the Qurans is part of a plan titled "Quranic Brotherhood in Africa”.
Igul Ardam, the director of the department, said the plan aims to support those in Africa who want to read the Quran.
A truck carrying the 21500 copies of the Quran left the city in a ceremony on Thursday.
The Awqaf department is affiliated to Turkey’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet).
