More than 1,400 Sign Up for Ras Al Khaimah Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – As many as 1.420 individuals have registered for taking part in the Ras Al Khaimah Quran Award, organizers said.

 

According to al-Bayan Daily, head of the Ras Al Khaimah Quranic Silences Institute, which annually holds the contest, said registration for the 19th edition of the event has concluded.  

Ahmed Ibrahim Baian said the preliminary round in both men and women sections will be held from Thursday, January 3 to Saturday, January 12.

He noted that there are 738 participants in the women section and 682 in the men section.

Baian also said a research category has been added to the competition for the first time.

It aims at promoting scholarly research on the Quran, he said.

Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost emirate of the United Arab Emirates.
