808 Boys, Girls Attend Quran Contest in Bahrain

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary round of the 3rd edition of a Quran competition for students of Quranic centers of Bahrain was held with the participation of 808 individuals.

 

According to alkhalj website, the Society for Serving the Quran organized the contest, known as Iqra Award, in four provinces of the country earlier this month.

Abdul Ghani Qahtan, director of the society, said the boys and girls attending the event competed in different categories of Quran memorization.

He said 470 students competed in the boys section while 338 were present in the girls section.

According to Qahtan, winners who will make it to the final round will be announced on March 1.

He noted that four Quran experts introduced by the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs formed the panel of judges in the competition.
