Egypt Mufti Denounces Terrorist Attack Targeting Quranic Gathering
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam strongly condemned a terrorist attack that target a Quran recitation gathering in central Afghanistan, leaving at least 15 people killed and 20 others injured.
In a statement, the Mufti of Egypt asserted that Islam totally rejects attacks on innocent people.
He went on to say that targeting places earmarked for Quran reciting and memorizing reflects the obscurantist ideology adopted by these misleading groups, Egypt Today reported.
The Mufti called on the international community and global actors to take all necessary measures to counter terrorism and extremism and face attempts aimed at spreading sectarian seditions.
Allam offered his sincere condolences to the Afghan government and people, as well as the victims' families.
