TEHRAN (IQNA) – Masih (Christ) is the word of good news, that is, all his existence is good news and happiness and this is the essence of prophethood that can bring the dead back to life.

Story of Jesus (AS)

God says in Verse 45 of Surah Al Imran: “When the angels said: ‘O Mary, Allah gives you glad tidings of a Word (Be) from Him, whose name is Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary. He shall be honored in this world and in the Everlasting Life and he shall be among those who are close.’”

Divine angels talk to people, saying God gives the good news to Mary (SA) that He will give her one of His words, that is Christ, and he will be named Isa (Jesus) son of Mary. He will be a beautiful and dear word in the world and in the hereafter and among the words that are close (to God).

According to this verse, the words of God, unlike the words of people, are genuine and real.

For example, a tree is one of the words of God’s mercy and essence of the tree is that genuine external being while every people gives it a certain name such as tree, Shajar, etc. These are only names and the true word of tree is what you see in the forest.

Ibn Arabi (1165-1240) considers all messengers of God to be divine words and from each word he has taken gems, presenting them in a book titled “Gems of Wisdom”.

Masih is the word of good news, that is, all his existence is good news and happiness and this is the essence of prophethood that can bring the dead back to life.

Of course all prophets bring good news. According to Ibn Arabi, the best manifestation of bringing the good news is in life of Jesus (AS).
