Quranic Museum ‘Bait Al-Hamd’ Inaugurated in Kuwait

IQNA – The Quranic Museum "Bait Al-Hamd" has been inaugurated in Kuwait with the aim of promoting the Quran and Islamic knowledge.

 

The Museum opened in Kuwait in February, coinciding with the country's national celebrations. The opening ceremony was attended by several officials, Kuwaiti media reported this weekend. 

It has been established with the support of the country’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and in collaboration with the Quran and Prophetic Tradition Association.

Describing "Bait Al-Hamd" as a cornerstone of Kuwait's cultural advancement, Fahad Al-Dihani, Director of the Quran and Prophetic Tradition Association, emphasized its architectural inspiration drawn from historical Kuwaiti houses.

He highlighted the museum's purpose of showcasing the history of the Holy Quran, focusing on both the scholarly and artistic endeavors in its memorization, transcription, and the contributions of Kuwaiti scholars to its dissemination.

He also said the museum offers educational programs for Quranic learning and recitation for different age groups, as well as cultural events, lectures, and seminars to promote Islamic knowledge and heritage.

Moreover, the museum supports academic research in Quranic studies and archaeological preservation, protects manuscripts and old texts, and publishes materials related to the Quran and Islamic heritage, he added.

The museum has five main halls, including educational, audio-visual, reception, administrative, and a special hall for valuable collections.
